3 Port Brake featuring our Dual Taper Locking System™, compatible with our Surge 7.62, Razor 7.62 and Micro30. This muzzle device is designed for reducing recoil when shooting unsuppressed. The 3 Port Brake has a .30 cal aperture, but the 1/2×28 variation can be permanently attached to 5.56 14.5″ barrels in order to meet 16″ requirements.
A muzzle brake redirects propellant gas out to the sides to reduce felt recoil and muzzle rise, so you can stay on target and get faster follow-up shots. On suppressor-ready designs it also serves as the mounting point for the suppressor. Brakes are loud for people standing beside the shooter, so they are often paired with a suppressor.
Match the thread pitch to your barrel (1/2×28 is common on 5.56 and .22 rifles, 5/8×24 on .30 caliber rifles) and confirm the device is made for your suppressor’s mounting system. Muzzle devices should be installed, timed and secured exactly as the manufacturer specifies. If you’re not sure, have a gunsmith do it.
